Cats with attitude

Little head, but large amounts of "Phoeba-tude"

A big cat with lots of "Ellie-tude"
I swear, they think that they are "the bomb" when they sit near windows...

Finally an update!!!

Here we are, sitting pretty in the hallway...one of us sitting prim and proper and the other sitting Jabba the Hut style. See if you can figure it out.
(P.S. - where is Ellie's other leg?)

In early July, I decided to remove the ugly wallpaper in our kitchen. It took a while, but at least I had a helper.

She inconveniently sat at by the bottom step of the ladder and refused to move when I tried to descend the ladder.

And, apparently watching me was hard work. She was exhausted.

Phoebe really likes cave-like dwellings. I often find her tucked away in blankets. She also likes when I make her a tent with a blanket and the chair/ottoman.

This is one of Ellie's favorite spots to lay. (at the top of the stairs)

This is an old picture of Little Head, but it makes me laugh.

I have this picture saved in my computer as "sleeping fatness."
How else would you label it?

We're Baaccckkkk!

We would like to apologize on behalf of our owner for not keeping up on our blog. Some nerve she has! We still love her, which is why we peer out the window everyday when we know she is on her way home for lunch. (as the above picture shows!)

Ellie was caught sleeping like this the other day. I can't tell if she is praying for more food or if she is protecting her nose from the odor of the surprise she left in the litter box...

Either way, this is one of her cuter pictures that doesn't reveal her entire beached-whale body.

This picture is a collection of Phoebe's pom pom balls. These are her favorite toys and I usually give her 4 at a time. I can never figure out exactly where they go, but they always seem to be missing. After seeing her snooping in the kitchen, I found ALL of these under the stove. Apparently she bats them around and they end up under the stove; out of reach from her little paws.

Mystery solved.

A typical day for Fattie and Little Head. Not sure what they look at all day, but now our neighbor's cat sits in their window across the driveway from this window. I think they are now friends.

Pictures coming soon...

We (and by "we" I mean the cats and I) celebrated Phoebe's 3rd birthday Saturday night. Well, I celebrated as much as I could with a killer headache. She and Ellie feasted on tuna and Phoebe enjoyed playing with the 5 pom pom balls that I gave her. She was entered for about an hour with those; she chases them and meows at them. Ellie couldn't be bothered; she was perched in the window for most of the night. I will post pictures soon. (ooh, the suspense!!!)

It's only right...

that Bret makes it on to my blog.
Hopefully we will see you in August...8th row, baby!!!

But, just in case, I have been brushing up on my "Down Boys," "Cherry Pie," and "Heaven" lyrics...along with a little "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "When I Look Into Your Eyes." Yes, the concert also includes Warrant and Firehouse. (Which totally brings me back to my yellow paneled bedroom with that shag-type green/yellow carpet on Main Street....thanks, Steve!)

Yes, Bret...that's correct. I have TWO cats...

A quick hello...

Phoebe wanted me to give a quick "shout out" to her old friends in Belvidere.
So, whatever Little Head wants, Little Head gets.

What's up Gemini? Still killing giraffes?

Fat cat in a little box...

If cats had to get married, I think Gemini and Ellie would make quite the couple!

How's it going, Casey?

(You can't tell from this picture, but Casey was covered up part way with a quilt...cats get cold too, ya know!)

Please Note: Plastic bags are not toys. Please use them responsibly.

Sorry, Elenore and Bo-Heebees have been pretty uneventful lately. (Cool nicknames, huh? Actually, I usually call Ellie "Elen-Oreo." She likes it.)

Lounging Ladies...

It's almost that time again, kitties!

Once the weather gets a bit nicer, the windows will be occupied full-time by these felines.

Phoebe is so excited that she lost her neck!!!

You'll be missed, Sparky

Even though he had the ability to annoy us with just one, nagging paw and could clear a room with his scent, we'll still miss him.

He was lucky to have had our parents adopt him as they gave him the best life an animal could have. (The vets are also happy as their cars are now paid for!) He was such a nice, loyal and great pet to have.

His little, front crooked teeth always amused me as did his ability to "bronco"...I swear his front legs turned into mini pogo sticks when he got excited. I laugh when I think about how, without fail, he would always chew his rawhides right behind the couch...probably just to annoy dad while he watched TV. And, no one believes it, but I think his pupils actually turned to hearts whenever mom entered the room.

This picture makes me laugh. He looks like he could be on one of those crazy greeting cards where the animals have large heads.

P.S. - Sparky no barky!

Woo Hoo! Look Who's 2!!!!

Here she is...the big birthday girl! (and I do mean big!)

Since today was Ellie's birthday, the cats got to dine on tuna and then I let Ellie roam the basement - for as long as she wanted. Big day for her!

Ellie's birthday dinner (don't worry, Kevin, I will replace the can later...)

Here they are, enjoying their feast. They went a little crazy for the tuna and Kevin referred to it as "crack for cats."

Here is an action shot of Ellie enjoying her food.

(Sidenote: I had a vision of the movie "Stand By Me" as I watched the cats race to eat the food...Ellie of course would play Davie Hogan and the crowd would yell "Boom babba boom" as she walked....)

She didn't get any cool toys this year as our house is full of ones that she never touches. Instead, she was given treats.
