You'll be missed, Sparky

Even though he had the ability to annoy us with just one, nagging paw and could clear a room with his scent, we'll still miss him.

He was lucky to have had our parents adopt him as they gave him the best life an animal could have. (The vets are also happy as their cars are now paid for!) He was such a nice, loyal and great pet to have.

His little, front crooked teeth always amused me as did his ability to "bronco"...I swear his front legs turned into mini pogo sticks when he got excited. I laugh when I think about how, without fail, he would always chew his rawhides right behind the couch...probably just to annoy dad while he watched TV. And, no one believes it, but I think his pupils actually turned to hearts whenever mom entered the room.

This picture makes me laugh. He looks like he could be on one of those crazy greeting cards where the animals have large heads.

P.S. - Sparky no barky!

Woo Hoo! Look Who's 2!!!!

Here she is...the big birthday girl! (and I do mean big!)

Since today was Ellie's birthday, the cats got to dine on tuna and then I let Ellie roam the basement - for as long as she wanted. Big day for her!

Ellie's birthday dinner (don't worry, Kevin, I will replace the can later...)

Here they are, enjoying their feast. They went a little crazy for the tuna and Kevin referred to it as "crack for cats."

Here is an action shot of Ellie enjoying her food.

(Sidenote: I had a vision of the movie "Stand By Me" as I watched the cats race to eat the food...Ellie of course would play Davie Hogan and the crowd would yell "Boom babba boom" as she walked....)

She didn't get any cool toys this year as our house is full of ones that she never touches. Instead, she was given treats.

Meowy Christmas!

This picture has nothing to do with our cats, but it is a picture of our first Christmas tree! Isn't it pretty?

The stockings were hung on the railing with care...with Phoebe in the background.
Notice the two small stockings...meow meow!

The kitties had a little visit from Uncle Dick this past weekend. Yes, he brought them some gifts that their Wauconda friends, Kitty Cat and Sweetie Pie, had bought them. As you can see below, the cats seemed to have enjoyed the bows and tissue paper as well!

Ellie laid in this tissue paper for quite a while. I'd say she took about a 1/2 hour nap all wrapped up. I left a piece of tissue on the floor all week and she really liked it. Strange.

Ooh, the Attack Cat! Go Phoebe! Kill that bow!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Oh Chirstmas tree...

and big fat cat!

Here is Ellie posing 'Kirstie Alley' style in front of our first Christmas tree (awe...we're married!). Well, maybe she isn't posing, but rather laying wherever her tubby body landed. (Side note from previous post: she is healthy according to Mr. Vet. She just likes to eat!)

I really wanted a picture of both cats, however, Phoebe was off spazzing out behind me and eating garland. Poor cat...tiny head = tiny brain.

So far there hasn't been too many issues with the tree and the cats. Just a few ornaments on the floor the first day or two, but other than that, they have been good. They do meet for an occasional pow-wow under the tree where I suppose they are discussing possible x-mas gifts for their owners.

Poor Ellie...

She has lost her girlish figure and now it's diet time.

Do they make treadmills for cats?

Why do I get the weird cats?

Sorry for the delay in posts. We've been busy getting married, hanging out in Maui and stuff like that! Here are a bunch of pictures from the past few weeks...my cats are weird.

Fatty and Little Head...sunbathers extraordinaire!

Ellie's paw...don't ask.

Phoebe's modeling picture. Either she is trying to look serious or she wants whatever it is that I was eating at the moment.

What's your sleep number?

Ellie's is 27 - which is the same as laying on someone's back.

Yes, she crawled up on my back to sleep. It was very funny, but really uncomfortable for me. I tried to call Kevin in to take a picture, and every time I said his name, she pawed at my head.

Here she is taking advantage of the arm of the couch. She tends to lay like this a lot with all four paws hanging over the side of the couch. Very lady-like.

Here's one of Phoebe's favorite spots; laying on the warm radiator. I am slightly jealous of her.(Again, she is laying on a towel...gotta make it comfortable for her!)

Here are the ladies just hanging out in the hallway. Apparently Ellie cannot lay like a normal cat. Does she realize that this position is not flattering to her figure?

Here is Ellie celebrating Halloween, bat-style. I put this toy, which the cats got from Auntie Andrea, on her back. She walked around it with for a while so I was able to snap a picture. I tried it with Phoebe, but she wasn't as tolerant.

YYAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Our parents are getting married in 3 days!!!

Meow meow!
(What? We're cats...we don't show much emotion, especially when the camera is on us.)
